CS2 update brings changes to the market and adjustments to Inferno

Counter-Strike 2 has received a new update that includes usability changes to the Steam Community Market, adjustments to the Inferno map, and several improvements to map scripting tools for creators in the Workshop.

While the patch doesn’t have a significant impact on gameplay, it does introduce several notable features that may impact your day-to-day gaming experience.

Steam Marketplace ads are now available in-game.

The most notable change concerns the Steam Community Market. Starting with this update, players can continue to use items even if they are listed for sale. This means skins listed on the Community Market will remain in the player’s inventory and can be equipped.

However, items posted cannot be modified or used until the listing is cancelled. Players can remove their listings at any time if they decide to continue using the item.

Another addition concerns the CS2 Armory Terminal, where users can now set a maximum offer limit for items. The weapons dealer will only display offers that fall within the set price range.

Changes to the Inferno map layout

The classic Inferno map has also been adjusted in this update.

The balcony at point A has been slightly expanded, potentially creating new positioning opportunities for defenders. At the same time, the cemetery area at point A has been completely closed, eliminating a long-standing position used in post-bomb situations.

The developers also fixed clipping near the small window near the balcony on Second Mid, improving player movement in that area.

Additionally, the Warden and Sanctum community maps have been updated to their latest Workshop versions.

Improvements for map creators

The update also includes numerous scripting enhancements for Workshop developers. New features include access to angular velocity values for objects, expanded weapon ammunition management, and additional event data for bullet impacts.

Valve also fixed several scripting issues, including missing player state functions and a bug that prevented certain jump input detection methods from activating correctly.

Finally, a small but fun fix was made: the developers fixed a slight tilt in the chicken’s running animation, continuing the tradition of small but memorable changes in Counter-Strike updates.
