FACEIT launches a new metric for Season 8

The FACEIT platform has officially announced a new player evaluation system, FACEIT Rating, which will become available with the launch of Season 8.

The main idea behind the new metric is to more accurately reflect a player’s true contribution to the match. FACEIT emphasizes that in standard statistics, all frags appear the same, even though their value varies significantly. For example, the first frag or the last kill that wins the round is more significant for the outcome of the round than a frag from a bomb explosion or a mine defusal.

FACEIT Rating will take these nuances into account, allowing for a much more nuanced assessment of a player’s contribution to a team’s victory than traditional metrics like K/D. The new system will be available to all users with the launch of FACEIT Season 8, which begins on April 22.
