FACEIT will add an eighth map to matchmaking
FACEIT has announced a vote for a new map to be added to the Season 8 map pool, which begins on April 22. Players will have the opportunity to choose which map will be the eighth in the matchmaking pool.
How the new map pool will work
Starting with the new season, FACEIT is expanding the pool to 8 maps, and the new map will become a full-fledged part of the system:
- the card will have ELO
- will be selected in the same way as other cards
- It can be excluded from search (for both Free and Premium players)
This means that the new card will not be mandatory and will not affect those who do not want to play it.
What do players vote for?
The final vote included cards selected from the top 1000 Elo players:
- Vertigo
- Cache
- Train
One of them will be a new addition to the FACEIT pool in Season 8.

Voting deadline
Voting will continue until April 15th at 5:00 PM (CEST). After that, FACEIT will announce the winner, who will be added to the matchmaking.
The return of cards like Cache or Train could seriously impact the FACEIT meta, especially for high-ELO players. This is also the first time the community has directly decided which cards will be included in the pool.
FACEIT continues to prioritize players, allowing them to shape their map pools independently. On April 22nd, it will be announced which map will return or be retained in matchmaking.
