Reloading in a New Way: Which Teams Will Suffer the Most from the CS2 Changes
Following the recent Counter-Strike 2 update, which completely overhauled the reload mechanics, the community has already released the first in-depth analyses. One Twitter enthusiast, Audi0logist, analyzed the statistics from the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 tournament and revealed who was losing the most ammo even before the changes—and therefore, who will suffer the most now.
General tournament statistics
According to the study, the picture looks like this:
- 248,577 shots
- 14,631 murders
- 17.8% overall accuracy
- 8,699 reloads
- 79,553 bullets “to nowhere”
- 9.3 rounds on average remained in the magazine when reloading
- 21.6% of players reloaded the M4A1-S with an empty magazine.
This means that even before the update, a huge amount of ammunition was simply lost – now this will become a critical factor in the game.
Who burns the most bullets?
Some teams and players stood out in particular:
- paiN Gaming leads the way in the number of shots fired into thin air on both sides.
- Ismailcan ‘XANTARES’ Dörtkardeş – about 90% of shots missed their target
These stats can now have a significant impact on player performance following the cooldown changes.
The most accurate and worst indicators
- Astralis is the most accurate team in the tournament (best shot/kill ratio)
- B8 is the worst accuracy on de_inferno for the T-side
This means that for some teams the update will be almost no problem, but for others it could have a painful impact on their results.
Features of the cards
The analysis also revealed interesting trends across the maps:
- de_anubis – most often used spray (especially for CT)
- de_inferno – the least spray (especially for T)
This directly impacts how the new reload mechanic will change the gameplay on different maps.
Which weapons will suffer the most?
Based on the data, the update will have the greatest impact on:
- Dual Berettas
- Galil AR
- AK-47
- Glock-18
- Five-SeveN
These are the types of weapons that are most often used with an aggressive shooting style and frequent reloads.
The reloading update in Counter-Strike 2 isn’t just a cosmetic change; it’s a serious blow to player habits. Data from PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 shows that a huge amount of ammo was previously wasted—and now there’s a price to pay.
Teams with disciplined shooting, like Astralis, will gain an advantage, while aggressive players and reload spammers will be forced to adapt or risk losing their level of play.

Teams that reload too early… or the "always reload" players?
I parsed the full PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026 dataset: 248,577 shots, 14,631 kills, and 8,699 reloads from 16 teams.
